FROM OUR STUDENTS

Naaman Lim’s Testimonial

“My name is Naaman Lim. I am eleven years old and I am a student from Bukit Timah Primary School. I have came to The Right Word since I was Primary four.

What I like about coming here is that the teachers here are not strict and is very fun during the lessons. I benefit by being able to do difficult math problems and to do the math problems in the practices easily. If I didn’t come to The Right Word, I would be struggling with math by now and I wouldn’t pass math also. I like all the teachers here because they’re all friendly and they teach in a very interesting manner.”

Dervynn Seah's Testimonial

“Hello, my name is Derynn. I’m ten years old this year. I’m Primary four and I’m from CHIJ Lady Queen of Peace. I started when I was in Primary two and now I’m in Primary four.

I like The Right Word because there are fun teachers which are very nice to you and they teach you fun methods in your subjects. I would not have improve and I might not have the confidence that my teachers gave me.

My favourite teachers are Teacher Kelvin and Teacher Dione because they are the teachers who teach me and they use fun methods to teach me in the subjects.”

Ethan Lim's Testimonial

“My name is Ethan. I am thirteen years old and I am from Geylang Methodist Secondary School. I started when I was in Primary Six, right in the middle of the year. My mother had found this tuition center and thought it was relatively different…so we thought we give that a try.

I like the lessons as the teachers are engaging and most of the time when they see us getting abit distracted, they will go off topic, take a break before we jump into lessons again.

I might have gotten an A for PSLE. I could have gotten a B or worse, I might not even like English, if I have not went for TRW.

I don’t really have a favourite teacher because most of the teachers are technically my favourite teacher.”

Renelle Lim's Testimonial

“My name is Renelle Lim and I’m twevle this year. And I am a student from Bukit Timah Primary School. I joined this tuition center when I was Primary four.

The teachers here have a good sense of humour and they are fun but they do have their ways of teaching. My grades have improved ever since I joined this tuition center. I think if I have not joined this tuition center, I will still be struggling with my grades.

My favourite teacher is Teacher Dione because she is fun and has interesting ways to teach us.”

Megan's Testimonial

TRW: When did you start attending tuition at The Right Word?

MEG: 2013!

TRW: What do you like about attending tuition at The Right Word?

MEG: The lessons at The Right Word are really different compared to other tuition centres! The tutors are committed and students who are at different levels are able to learn together as the classes are very guided to ensure that no one is lost or unable to follow the pace of the class! The materials provided by the centre is creative and original. It is created with the aim of equipping students to be exam-ready and be connected to current affairs at all times!

TRW: How have you benefitted from attending classes at The Right Word?

MEG: Enrolling into this centre is probably one of the best choices I’ve made as the tutors at The Right Word really care about me and strive their best in helping me improve my grades. I am very glad to have aced my tests since sec! More importantly, I don’t just learn things that are related to academics, but also values that help shape me into a better person.

TRW: How would life be different if you do not attend classes at The Right Word?

MEG: Without attending classes at The Right Word, I think I would not be able to fully realise my strengths and weakness. While learning how to maximise my strengths, I’ve also learnt how to improve in many ways to make up for the weaknesses that I have.

TRW: Who is your favourite teacher and why?

MEG: Fav teachers: Adeline and Dione. Adeline is constantly egging me on and encourages me all the time! Always gives really good advice on how I can improve my English through reading and narrows down on the best reading materials as TIME, Straits Times and Present Perfect! She has a sense of humour that lights up the classroom when teaching because it is more interesting and engaging. Dione is a super math whiz, she’s really dedicated to teaching and has a certain tenacity as solving math problems are really mind draining! I personally feel that it is very admirable as not everyone will be able to do that. Very entertaining so the classes don’t get boring, but at the same time able to teach very well!

Morgan's Testimonial

TRW: When did you start attending tuition at The Right Word?
MOR: I started attending tuition when I was in primary 3. (TRW: Morgan is in Secondary 1 now)

TRW: What do you like about attending tuition at The Right Word?
MOR: The lessons are enjoyable, fun-filled in a conducive environment. Animations, videos and short films are used for a better understanding of the lesson objective. When I was going to write a composition on filial piety, Adeline would show me a clip on filial piety to let me understand the topic much more and I was able to write my composition with a clearer perspective.

TRW: How have you benefited from attending classes at The Right Word?
MOR: My English grades improved tremendously after attending tuition at TRW.

TRW: How would life be different if you do not attend classes at The Right Word?
MOR: I will fail my English. (TRW: lol that’s pretty extreme)

TRW: Who is your favourite teacher and why?
MOR: Adeline is my favourite teacher because she teaches with a sense of humour and her lessons are overall the best! What I like about Dione is also her humour and she encourages us to work hard at the same time.

He spurs me on to greater heights in my English

“I started lessons in June 2011, my SA1 grade was C5. After lessons with Mr K.Lee, my grades improved to B3 for my SA2 for English. He is strict with me when I do not do my work, and rewards me when I do my work well. He spurs me on to greater heights in my English like teaching me how to express myself properly in the English which helped me in my oral exams. I also improved in my creative writing and comprehension skills. Thank you Mr Lee.”

I improved to a Band 1 for my SA2.

“I started tuition with Mr Lee on 26 May 2011, after my SA1 where I scored Band 2 for my English. After half a year with Mr Kelvin Lee, I improved to a Band 1 for my SA2. I’m grateful to him for helping me to improve in my English. He imposes a lot of discipline during the lesson, but does provide real-life anecdotes at times to make lessons interesting. Sometimes, he teaches overtime either to ensure the work is done during lessons before examinations. Thank you Mr K.Lee!”
